“King of the Desert” (literal translation) has confirmed its star-studded lineup!
On May 27, OTT (over-the-top) platform WATCHA shared, “Actors Jin Goo, Yang Dong Geun, Jang Dong Yoon, Kim Jae Hwa, Lee Hong Nae, Jung Yi Seo, and Park Ye Rin have been cast in ‘King of the Desert.’ This is the first work of our ‘Kim Bo Tong Project,’ which is garnering interest for our collaboration with writer Kim Bo Tong.”
“King of the Desert” is a WATCHA original drama that tells the story of the choices made by those who believe money is everything, and those who don’t.
Viewers can look forward to Jin Goo’s appearance, who has recently starred in films “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One” and “My Lovely Angel” as well as dramas “A Superior Day,” “Legal High,” and “Untouchable.” He will be starring alongside Yang Dong Geun, who is active in both acting and music. They will also be joined by Jang Dong Yoon, who has recently added works like “Search,” “The Tale of Nokdu,” and “Just Dance” to his filmography.
Kim Jae Hwa of “Nothing Serious,” and “Escape from Mogadishu” will also be joining the cast lineup. The drama also features appearances from rising stars like Lee Hong Nae, Jung Yi Seo, and Park Ye Rin. With his appearance in the film “Hot Blooded,” Lee Hong Nae won the Best New Actor award at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards. Jung Yi Seo has starred in hit works such as “All of Us Are Dead,” “Tale of the Nine Tailed,” and “Parasite.” Park Ye Rin rose to fame with her appearance in the film “Space Sweepers,” where she played the key role of Dorothy.
“King of the Desert” is WATCHA’s collaboration work with writer Kim Bo Tong, who has written hit webtoons “Amanza” and “D.P Dog’s Day,” both of which have been made into dramas. Kim Bo Tong will work hand-in-hand with director Lee Tak and production company Gorae Pictures.
In addition to being produced as a drama, “King of the Desert” will also eventually be released as a webtoon.
