JTBC’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama “Family X Melo” (literal title, formerly referred to as “Melo House”) has dropped its first stills!
On July 8, “Family X Melo” released its new character stills featuring Ji Jin Hee, Kim Ji Soo, Son Naeun, SHINee’s Minho, and ASTRO’s Sanha.
“Family X Melo” tells the story of people that feel their lives are incomplete gathering together as a family and dreaming of a complete love. The drama is penned by Kim Young Yoon of “My Secret Romance” and directed by Kim Da Ye of “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty.”
Ji Jin Hee takes on the role of Byun Moo Jin, someone who was divorced by his wife Geum Ae Yeon 14 years ago when his business collapsed, but now appears again in front of his wife and daughter after he becomes a rich billionaire.
Kim Ji Soo plays Byun Moo Jin’s ex-wife Geum Ae Yeon, a wonder woman who started off living in a small room at a soup restaurant after divorcing Moo Jin and raised her two children while navigating through all kinds of hardships. The only reason Geum Ae Yeon was able to overcome those hard times was thanks to her daughter Byun Mi Rae.
Son Naeun transforms into Byun Moo Jin and Geum Ae Yeon’s daughter Byun Mi Rae, who works as a merchandiser (MD) of the Food and Beverage Team at a large supermarket and faithfully carries out her role as the head of the family.
Minho portrays the role of Nam Tae Pyeong, a former national taekwondo player who is now a security guard at a large supermarket. Nam Tae Pyeong is actually the son of J Plus Mart’s CEO, but he thinks that having a chaebol father has nothing to do with him and lives his life independently.
Sanha plays Byun Mi Rae’s younger brother Byun Hyun Jae, who is 23 years old and the only family member who welcomes his dad Byun Moo Jin’s return. Unlike his older sister Mi Rae, who is extremely cold to Moo Jin, Hyun Jae wholeheartedly supports the reunion of his parents.
“Family X Melo” is set to premiere on August 10 at 10:30 p.m. KST as the follow-up to “Miss Night and Day.” Stay tuned!
