“Confidential Assignment 2: International” shows no signs of slowing down!
On September 17, the Korean Film Council officially announced that as of 7 a.m. KST that morning, “Confidential Assignment 2” had racked up a total of 4,112,818 moviegoers—meaning that the film took less than 11 days to surpass 4 million moviegoers.
Notably, “Confidential Assignment 2” managed to hit the 4 million mark faster than the original “Confidential Assignment” film (which took 13 days to reach the milestone) and the recent Hollywood movie “Top Gun: Maverick” (18 days), which was one of the biggest hits at the South Korean box office this summer.
To commemorate the film’s latest achievement, “Confidential Assignment 2” stars Hyun Bin, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, Daniel Henney, Yoo Hae Jin, and Jin Sun Kyu—as well as director Lee Seok Hoon—all posed for celebratory photos with messages expressing their excitement.
“Confidential Assignment 2” stars Hyun Bin as a North Korean detective named Rim Chul Ryung and Yoo Hae Jin as a South Korean detective named Kang Jin Tae, who previously teamed up to catch a criminal in the original “Confidential Assignment” film. In the new sequel, the duo gets back together to hunt down the leader of a North Korean criminal organization that has wreaked havoc all over the world (played by Jin Sun Kyu), and they are joined by Kang Jin Tae’s sister-in-law (Girls’ Generation’s YoonA) and an FBI agent from the United States (Daniel Henney).
Congratulations to the cast and crew!
