Girl’s Day’s Hyeri and Highlight’s Yoon Dojoon may be returning with a new drama soon!
On March 17, Sports Chosun reported that Hyeri and Yoon Doo Joon will be starring as the leads of the new MBC drama “Ildangbaek Butler” (literal title).
In response to the reports, a source from Hyeri’s agency Creative Group ING stated, “Hyeri is positively reviewing the offer to star in MBC’s new drama ‘Ildangbaek Butler.'” A representative of Yoon Doojoon’s agency Around Us Entertainment also stated, “Yoon Doojoon received an offer to star in ‘Ildangbaek Butler,’ and he is currently reviewing the offer.”
“Ildangbaek Butler” tells the story of Butler Kim, who runs errands that begin at a cost of 100 won (approximately 10 cents) per job, and funeral director Baek Dong Joo, who grants the wishes of the dead, as they operate an errand-running business called Ildangbaek (meaning one person doing the work of 100, and in this specific case, also referring to the fact that one errand costs 100 won).
Yoon Doojoon is in talks to play Butler Kim, Ildangbaek’s one and only employee. Although he has kind eyes, Butler Kim also has a fierce side within, and despite seeming easy, he carries his weight in important moments. He ends up meeting Baek Dong Joo due to a customer’s request, and within three meetings, he learns of a secret he cannot handle and becomes intertwined in Baek Dong Joo’s life.
Hyeri is in talks to play funeral director Baek Dong Joo, a bright and refreshing person who seems like early spring and a delicate sprout but is actually a steadfast and strong character. Baek Dong Joo also seems bland, but she isn’t, and she is a tough nut who started table tennis when she was eight years old. After becoming a funeral director, Baek Dong Joo learns that she has a peculiar ability: she can talk to the dead. The moment her warm hand touches the face of the deceased, there is a tingling signal and a flash of light like a switch turning on, and the deceased temporarily regains vitality and talks to her. Baek Dong Joo dutifully carries out the final wishes of the deceased.
Recently, Hyeri successfully wrapped up her historical drama “Moonshine.” With numerous hit works under her belt including “My Roommate Is a Gumiho,” “Miss Lee,” “Reply 1988,” and more, viewers are looking forward to Hyeri’s next transformation.
Currently, Yoon Doojoon is gearing up for Highlight’s long-awaited comeback with their first full-length album “DAYDREAM.” Yoon Doojoon is also confirmed to make his return to the small screen with the drama “There is No Goo Pil Soo” (literal translation).
Stay tuned for more updates on the drama!
