The upcoming film “Hear Me: Our Summer” has unveiled a sneak peek of Hong Kyung’s character!
“Hear Me” tells a refreshing story about love and self-discovery. The film follows Yong Jun (Hong Kyung), who boldly pursues love, and Yeo Reum (Roh Yoon Seo), who learns to understand her true feelings, while her supportive younger sister, Ga Eul (Kim Min Ju), cheers them on.
Hong Kyung stars as Yong Jun, a recent college graduate searching for his dreams. While working part-time delivering lunchboxes, he unexpectedly falls for Yeo Reum at first sight. Yong Jun is straightforward when it comes to love. Without hesitation, he approaches Yeo Reum, gradually winning her heart by paying close attention to her story.
The released stills provide a glimpse of Yong Jun’s charming personality. In the images, he smiles at his phone while texting Yeo Reum and communicates with her using sign language. Other images showcase Hong Kyung’s sincere and warm gaze, suggesting a different appeal from the intense characters he has played in the past.
To prepare for his role as Yong Jun, Hong Kyung spent about three months learning sign language, demonstrating his commitment to “Hear Me: Our Summer.” He expressed his thoughts on portraying Yong Jun, saying, “When you communicate in sign language, you fully concentrate on the other person. You have to pay attention to their expressions, which allows for deeper emotional immersion.”
He also noted, “’Hear Me: Our Summer’ captures the pains of first love and the changes and growth that come with it, as well as the emotions of that time. The film conveys these themes through various senses, including sign language, the sound of breathing, and even gaze, making it a film that should definitely be experienced in theaters.”
“Hear Me: Our Summer” is set to hit theaters on November 6.
