Film “Malmoe: The Secret Mission” Hits 1 Million Moviegoers Milestone In Impressive Time

The film “Malmoe: The Secret Mission” has reached a meaningful milestone!
“Malmoe: The Secret Mission” tells the story of an illiterate man (Yoo Hae Jin) who meets the head of the Korean Language Society (Yoon Kye Sang). The two work together to secretly create a dictionary of the Korean language at a time when Korean was banned under Japanese occupation in the 1940s.
The film was released on January 9 and as of noon on January 13, it has attracted 1,003,404 moviegoers. Not only did the film top the Korean box office in the first week of its release, but it has also reached the one million moviegoer mark in just five days.
It is expected to continue doing well as the film has been praised for its strong storyline about the fight to preserve the Korean language and its talented cast of actors that includes Yoo Hae Jin, Yoon Kye Sang, Kim Hong Fa, Woo Hyun, Kim Tae Hoon, Kim Sun Young, and Min Jin Woong. The film currently has a 98 percent rating on CGV, a 9.38 out of 10 on Naver, and a 9.3 out of 10 on Lotte Cinema’s rating system.
