EXO's Doh Kyung Soo (D.O.) Dishes On New Solo Album, Farming, + Feeling Nervous About Upcoming Tour

In a recent interview and pictorial for Harper’s Bazaar Korea magazine, EXO’s Doh Kyung Soo (D.O.) talked about his upcoming solo album and more!

Doh Kyung Soo is currently gearing up to make his first solo comeback since leaving SM Entertainment: the singer will be returning with the new mini album “Blossom” on May 7.

As the Korean title of “Blossom” is the word “growth,” Doh Kyung Soo revealed, “The album’s keyword is the subject matter from my experience that I wanted to talk about the most right now. After all, in our lives, we all grow one step at a time. We grow even as we feel pain, and we grow even when we’re struggling. I really wanted [this album] to be an opportunity for everyone who listens to it—and also for me—to become a bit sturdier.”

When asked about his experience on the variety show “GBRB: Reap What You Sow,” in which he tried his hand at farming, Doh Kyung Soo expressed his deep respect for and newfound admiration of farmers.

“When I saw the older man next door farming, it looked so easy,” he remarked, “but after briefly becoming a farmer, I realized that it was an amazing job that not anyone can do.”

He adorably went on to add, “When I eat, I’m definitely not going to leave any perilla leaves or lettuce on the table [uneaten]. I’m also going to finish all my rice no matter what, without leaving any of it uneaten.”

Finally, Doh Kyung Soo confessed to feeling nervous ahead of his upcoming fan concert tour of Asia, which will kick off in June.

“Up until now, I’ve always promoted with my [fellow EXO] members, so I didn’t have many opportunities to stand on stage alone,” he explained. “During this fan-con tour of Asia, I’ll be singing multiple songs on my own. So I’m really nervous, but I’m also equally excited. When I see the eyes of my fans on stage, I gain a ton of energy. That huge energy I receive becomes my driving force.”
