BIGBANG’s Daesung has joined Allure Korea for a pictorial and interview!
On May 27, Allure Korea released a dashing pictorial featuring Daesung. In the accompanying interview, the BIGBANG member delved into his recent live tour that took place for the first time in seven years.
Reflecting on the significance of performing, Daesung remarked, “Performing is the most valuable thing a singer can do. The preparation process can be very stressful, but the happiness experienced when finally stepping on stage is irreplaceable. In the end, performing is what drives me to continue with all activities.”
Discussing his affection for performing, Daesung attributed it to his experiences with BIGBANG. He explained, “BIGBANG focused more on touring and live performing than on television appearances. This naturally exposed me to the vibrant energy of live shows, which deeply captivated me.”
Daesung also talked about his YouTube channel “ZIP Daesung,” expressing his initial worries about entering the saturated YouTube market and competing with well-established channels. However, he showed his satisfaction, saying, “In hindsight, starting my own channel was a good decision. Most importantly, my fans enjoy it, and both Taeyang and G-Dragon love it as well.”
Having debuted as a member of BIGBANG in 2006, 18 years have now passed since Daesung’s debut. Reflecting on having spent half of his life as a singer, Daesung revealed, “I encountered many [staff members] confessing to me that they were once VIPs, which makes me feel nostalgic and proud at the same time.” However, he emphasized, “Though I feel touched, I try not to dwell on that feeling or become overly sentimental. The past is the past, and there is a future ahead of us. Nowadays, I simply feel grateful for the opportunity to continue my career for such a long time.”
Daesung’s full interview and pictorial can be found in the June issue of Allure Korea magazine.
