Choi Tae Joon and Yang Hye Ji will be joining KBS2’s upcoming weekend drama “Iron Family” (literal translation)!
Penned by screenwriter Seo Sook Hyang of “Pasta,” “Don’t Dare to Dream” (also known as “Jealousy Incarnate”), and “Wok of Love,” “Iron Family” is a dark comedy about a family that has run a laundry business for three generations. The drama was previously confirmed to star Kim Jung Hyun, Geum Sae Rok, Kim Young Ok, Park In Hwan, Shin Hyun Joon, Park Ji Young, and Kim Hye Eun.
Kim Jung Hyun will play Seo Kang Joo, the son of the richest family in the Cheongryeom neighborhood and the executive director of Jiseung Group. Geum Sae Rok will star as Lee Da Rim, the youngest daughter of the Cheongnyeom Laundry family. One day, Lee Da Rim reunites with Seo Kang Joo, with whom she shares unforgettable memories, for the first time in eight years. The comedic chemistry between Kang Joo, who values human relationships over money, and Da Rim, who doesn’t tolerate sympathy, is one of the main highlights of “Iron Family.”
Joining this stellar cast are Choi Tae Joon and Yang Hye Ji, who will bring their solid acting skills and diverse charms to the drama.
Choi Tae Joon will play Cha Tae Woong, a part-time worker at Cheongnyeom Laundry. Abandoned at birth and raised in an orphanage, Tae Woong must live life on his own after becoming an adult. Thanks to his friendly and kind personality, he is treated like family by the Cheongnyeom Laundry household. When Tae Woong sees Kang Joo hitting on Da Rim, he starts to protect her like an older brother. The ensuing tension between Kim Jung Hyun’s and Choi Tae Joon’s characters will be another reason to look forward to the drama.
Yang Hye Ji will play the role of Lee Cha Rim, the second daughter of Cheongnyeom Laundry. Cha Rim, who is known as the beauty of the Cheongryeom neighborhood, is a member of the MZ generation who is as bold in her love life as she is in her fashion sense. She has a huge affection deficit due to her mother only caring for her younger sister Da Rim, but she uses this weakness as her driving force and actively carves out an independent life for herself. Cha Rim, who loves clothes, becomes a designer at Jiseung Group and constantly clashes with her boss, Kang Joo. The relationship between this elder sister, who always had to yield to her sickly younger sibling, and her younger sister, who feels guilty for her family’s sacrifices, is expected to resonate with viewers.
“Iron Family” is set to premiere in September. Stay tuned for more updates!
