Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.
This month, BTS’s V earned two separate Circle certifications for his solo debut album “Layover.” First, Circle Chart awarded V his first million certification as a solo artist for the regular version of the album, which has sold over 1 million copies since its release in September.
Additionally, the Weverse version of the album earned a double platinum certification for selling over 500,000 copies.
SM Entertainment’s new boy group RIIZE also earned a million certification for their debut single album “Get A Guitar,” which has sold over 1 million copies since its own release in September.
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM’s 2022 mini album “ANTIFRAGILE” became the group’s second album to earn a million certification (following their latest album “UNFORGIVEN”).
EVNNE’s debut mini album “Target: ME,” CRAVITY’s latest mini album “SUN SEEKER,” and BOYNEXTDOOR’s first mini album “WHY..” were all certified platinum for selling over 250,000 copies each.
Over in the streaming category, IU’s 2020 hit “Celebrity” was certified double platinum after surpassing 200 million streams.
Finally, both AKMU and IU’s hit collab “NAKKA” and Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” were certified platinum for reaching 100 million streams each.
Congratulations to all of the artists!
