BTS’s V has made history on the Billboard 200!
Back in September, V’s solo debut album “Layover” entered Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart at No. 2, tying the record set by his bandmates Jimin and Suga for the highest ranking ever achieved on the chart by a Korean solo album.
V has now also become the first K-pop solo artist ever to spend seven consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200. Ever since its debut, “Layover” hasn’t dropped off the chart for a single week—and for the week ending on November 4, the album successfully remained on the chart at No. 160.
Additionally, “Layover” is only the second Korean solo album ever to spend seven weeks on the Billboard 200 at all. (V’s bandmate RM’s solo album “Indigo” also charted for seven weeks, but they were non-consecutive.)
Outside of the Billboard 200, “Layover” climbed back up to No. 13 on Billboard’s Top Current Album Sales chart and No. 18 on the Top Album Sales chart in its seventh week on both charts.
V’s title track “Slow Dancing” rose to No. 30 in its seventh week on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 54 on the Global 200, while his pre-release single “Love Me Again” climbed back up to No. 116 in its 11th week on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.
Finally, V charted at No. 83 on Billboard’s Artist 100, marking his ninth non-consecutive week on the chart as a solo artist.
Congratulations to V on his impressive new record!
