Ahn Young Mi asked Lee Soo Hyun if she didn’t have any objections to her brother naming the new album “SAILING.” Lee Soo Hyun said, “When my brother left for the military, I really felt how important he is to me. Just when my respect for him was at its absolute highest, he told me the title of the album was ‘SAILING,’ and I just went with it. I’m not going to just accept it next time.”
Lee Chan Hyuk added, “I do one, and then she does one.”
Talking about the long title of their title track, Lee Chan Hyuk said, “Two years ago, we had dropped a spoiler of the track as an unreleased song. At the time, long titles weren’t common. I don’t want to say I started a trend. I just didn’t want to shorten the title.”
When asked how long it takes him to write songs, Lee Chan Hyuk said, “If it takes a long time, it can take several days, but I’m impatient, so I can’t leave an unfinished song. I try to write as fast as I can. Before, I used to make songs in as short as 30 minutes, but these days, I’m trying to avoid rhymes that have become standard for me, so it takes a bit longer.”
He continued, “The first fifty or so songs I composed were all completed in under an hour. For example, ‘Don’t Cross Your Legs’ or ‘Is It Ramyun?’ But those songs are short: about two minutes.”
The siblings then answered a question about who they’ve recently texted with. Lee Soo Hyun said, “There’s a group chat with some actresses. Last night, I talked with Kim Sae Ron and Kim Bo Ra before going to bed.” Lee Chan Hyuk said, “SEVENTEEN’s Woozi contacted me to let me know his number changed.” Ahn Young Mi joked, “That means you survived his contact list cleanse,” and Lee Chan Hyuk said, “It’s a good thing our album did well.”
