“King the Land” has unveiled intriguing stills of its supporting cast!
JTBC’s “King the Land” will tell the story of the unlikely romance between Gu Won (2PM’s Lee Junho), a chaebol heir who can’t stand fake smiles, and the constantly smiling Cheon Sa Rang (Girls’ Generation’s YoonA), who becomes known as the “queen of smiles” while working her way up through the ranks of the King Hotel.
Ahead of the drama’s upcoming June premiere, “King the Land” has introduced the four trusty friends and colleagues of Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang!
First up is Go Won Hee as Oh Pyung Hwa, Cheon Sa Rang’s father-like friend and a King Air flight attendant who has everything except sense. Despite being incredibly engrossed in her work, Oh Pyung Hwa is consistently denied a promotion and forced to be a regular employee year after year. With comfort and support from her younger colleague Lee Ro Woon (Kim Jae Won), Oh Pyung Hwa does not lose hope and stays determined to one day be named manager.
Kim Ga Eun portrays Cheon Sa Rang’s loyal friend Kang Da Eul. She is rich with passion as a “sales king” at Alanga, a duty-free shop affiliated with King Distribution, and at home as a cool and busy mother and wife. After living her entire life taking care of others, Kang Da Eul finally decides to prioritize herself when her favor becomes someone else’s right.
After work, Oh Pyung Hwa, Kang Da Eul, and Cheon Sa Rang like to meet up for drinks and chat about dating, work, and anything and everything in between. This trio will depict true friendship as they share each other’s joys and sorrows with one another.
Ahn Se Ha takes on the role of secretary Noh Sang Sik, who joined the company at the same time as Gu Won. The quick-witted Noh Sang Sik is a skilled member of society who has tons of social experience, but chooses not to flatter the uptight Gu Won. As someone who cannot say things he doesn’t truly mean, Noh Sang Sik earns both Gu Won’s hatred and trust, creating an intriguing love-hate relationship.
Kim Jae Won plays Lee Ro Woon, a King Air flight attendant who strikes up a heart-fluttering romance with his senior colleague Oh Pyung Hwa. While he catches the eyes of all his female co-workers with his good looks and caring personality, Lee Ro Woon’s focus is solely on Oh Pyung Hwa. When Oh Pyung Hwa grows defeated after repeatedly failing to be promoted, Lee Ro Woon acts as her compass to remind her of the purpose of flying.
JTBC’s “King the Land” premieres on June 17 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
