tvN’s “Yumi’s Cells” has shared a sneak peek of Kim Go Eun and Park Ji Hyun’s tense first meeting!
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “Yumi’s Cells” is a new drama that tells the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi—from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action. Kim Go Eun plays the titular role of Yumi, an ordinary woman who struggles with expressing her feelings, while Ahn Bo Hyun stars as the straightforwardly honest game developer Goo Woong.
On the previous episode of “Yumi’s Cells,” Yumi and Goo Woong’s budding romance blossomed as the couple finally shared their first kiss. Meanwhile, Goo Woong’s close female friend Sae Yi (played by Park Ji Hyun) emerged a potential obstacle to their relationship as her true inner feelings about Goo Woong were revealed through her brain cells’ community bulletin board.
In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming fifth episode, Yumi and Sae Yi meet for the first time in a strangely uncomfortable encounter. The smitten Goo Woong can’t hide his excitement at seeing Yumi again, but his friend Sae Yi is clearly less than thrilled by her arrival. Although Yumi greets her with a bright smile, the tension between the two women is palpable as they awkwardly introduce themselves.
The producers of “Yumi’s Cells” teased, “Yumi and Sae Yi’s meeting will lead to an emergency in [Yumi’s] cell village. The storm that results from the two characters’ tense face-off will also unfold in an entertaining way.”
To find out what happens after Yumi and Sae Yi meet, tune in to the next episode of “Yumi’s Cells” on October 1 at 10:50 p.m. KST!
