MBC’s new audition program “Wild Idol” has reported seven confirmed COVID-19 cases among its cast members and production team members.
On November 22, the show revealed, “On November 21, a ‘Wild Idol’ cast member received confirmation of positive COVID-19 results. They showed no symptoms during the shoot on November 18, but upon taking a PCR test once symptoms developed after the shoot, they received positive test results.” The production team commented, “All cast and staff members have been tested, and a total of five cast and two staff members have received positive COVID results.”
“Wild Idol” has currently selected 15 contestants who will be narrowed down to a final group of seven.

"Hello, this is the team behind “Wild Idol.”
First, we apologize for worrying you with unfortunate news.
On November 21, a “Wild Idol” cast member received confirmation of positive COVID-19 results.
They showed no symptoms during the shoot on November 18, but upon taking a PCR test once symptoms developed after the shoot, they received positive test results.
All cast and staff members have been tested, and a total of five cast and two staff members have received positive COVID-19 results.
Up until now, we have followed the national guidelines with regular PCR testing and disinfection, as well as self-tests and temperature checks prior to shoots.
We are again sorry that despite all these efforts, there have been confirmed cases.
We will pay further attention to the personnel’s health and follow social distancing guidelines."
