The 2018 KBS Entertainment Awards will be held on December 22 to celebrate the best and brightest that shows had to offer in the past year.

Tradition vs New! Where will the Daesang (Grand prize) go?
When looking at the nominees for Daesang at the 2018 KBS Entertainment Awards, one can see a slight “Old versus new” competition. There’s Kim Joon Ho, the eldest member of KBS’s representative variety show “2 Days & 1 Night,” Shin Dong Yup, who heads long-running programs like “Hello Counselor” and “Immortal Songs,” and Yoo Jae Suk, the nation’s MC who runs “Happy Together 4.” They’re household names who have been around for a long time, and it will be interesting if any of them will be able to win the Daesang this year.
On the other side are rising stars Lee Dong Gook from “The Return of Superman” and Lee Young Ja from “Hello Counselor,” who are also strong contenders for the award. If Lee Young Ja wins, she will become the first woman to win the Daesang at the KBS Entertainment Awards, and if Lee Dong Gook wins, he will be the first person to win the award who isn’t classified as an entertainer, as he is a professional soccer player.
Will KBS get their first female Daesang winner?
Since the KBS Entertainment Awards began in 2002, there has not been a single female winner of the Daesang. There have only been two women who have been nominated for Daesang in the past 15 years, Lee Young Ja and Lee Hyori. It will be interesting to see if for the first time, a woman will win the Daesang.
Which team will take the title of Best Program of the Year as chosen by viewers?
Many are curious to see which program will take the award for Best Program of the Year as voted by viewers. Many are curious to see if “2 Days & 1 Night” will be able to take home the award for its third year after 2015 and 2016. Another contender is “Men Who Do Housework 2,” which is rising in between long-established programs.
The 2018 KBS Entertainment Awards will be held on December 22 at 9:20 p.m. KST, and will be hosted by Shin Hyun Joon, AOA’s Seolhyun, and Yoon Shi Yoon. There will be a red carpet event from 7:50 p.m. KST. The event will also be available on Dramacool!
